We are seeking to appoint one or more faculty members in organic chemistry (broadly defined) with a start date of July 1, 2016. The position(s) can be filled at any rank, from tenure-track assistant professor to full professor with tenure. A Ph.D. is required. Applicants for this position at the assistant professor or non-tenured associate professor rank must have the potential to do innovative and pioneering research and to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We invite applications for a faculty position at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer beginning July 1, 2016. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for directing the undergraduate program in chemistry and managing the instructional chemistry laboratories. The appointment also requires teaching at the undergraduate level. We anticipate that the successful candidate will make a long-term contribution to our Department and will serve as the department’s Director of Undergraduate Studies. While the initial appointment is for one year, renewal is possible pending successful review according to the usual standards of satisfactory performance in the first, second, fifth and eight years of appointment and every five years thereafter.
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Chemistry or in a related field and significant teaching experience.
