After Columbia

students at graduation

Most graduate students from the Chemistry Department go on to traditional research careers in both academia and industry, although some choose non-traditional careers in fields including finance, law, and journalism. A variety of career support services are provided by the department including career development workshops and onsite industry recruiting. The department is home to the Columbia Chemistry Careers Committee (C4), a student-run group that holds monthly career development events. In addition, there are several campus-wide career planning resources.
