Fay W Ng

Fay Ng earned her doctoral degree with Professor Samuel J. Danishefsky at Columbia University (Organic Chemistry, PhD 1997). She was an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow with professor Larry Overman at University of California, Irvine. She began her professional career in the pharmaceutical industry (Schering-Plough) as a medicinal research scientist for several years before returning to Columbia University as Lecturer in Discipline. She brings to the Undergraduate Studies Program wealth of experience in Organic Chemistry. She has undertaken vitalizing and modernizing the organic chemistry laboratory curriculum by revamping of the old traditional textbook validation-approach of laboratory teachings. She has developed laboratory courses that promotes critical analysis of reaction chemistry within the construct of teaching basic and advanced organic chemistry techniques.
