Orientation for Teaching Fellows in the Humanities and Social Sciences

This orientation provides information of general pertinence to Teaching Fellows at Columbia, and is designed to supplement department-based orientation and training. GSAS Teaching Center orientations include survival and ramp-up tactics for the first week of classes, introduction to active learning principles and techniques, inventories of teaching policies and resources at Columbia, and guidance for using CourseWorks and other digital platforms. Teaching Fellows are also on hand to answer questions and offer advice. New and returning Teaching Fellows are welcome to register. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to registered participants.
