Raul Hernandez Sanchez
Biography. Raúl completed his doctoral work under the mentorship of Ted Betley at Harvard, where he studied the electronic structure of iron clusters using a range of spectroscopic, electrochemical, and magnetic methods. He did his undergraduate degree at Tecnológico de Monterrey in México. After his second undergraduate year he went to Caltech as a research assistant and explored the chemistry of solid oxide proton conductors for fuel cell applications under the guidance of Prof. Sossina Haile. Later on, he went into an exchange program at the University of Southern Denmark, where he studied the formation of ionic membranes and their use in nanodisc formation with Prof. Beate Klösgen. Following that he returned to México and graduated after defending his thesis on the synthesis of dendrimers under the direction of Prof. Jesus Angel Valencia.
